Before apping to Aurora Express, please read the following guidelines.
★ You must be 18 to app. Players who lie about their age will be banned.
☆ You may have two characters in game at once. You can app both in one round. They must be from different canons, and placed on different teams. As we currently have 7 teams with 7 characters each, characters who exceed the overall cap (currently 49) or who requested only teams that are full will be placed in a queue. Queued characters will be placed based in order of app round, with first characters taking priority over second characters in the same round. If the queue is significant we'll add more teams, but the maximum number of teams we will ever have is 12.
★ We accept original characters, canon characters, and AUs of canon characters. Fanmade AUs are more than welcome, but AU characters must be notably different from the original. PG/CRAU characters are allowed, but you must be respectful of other players preferences with regard to past CR, and you must not use previous game experiences to spoil Trial mechanics or other plot things for other players. Fandom OCs are allowed only so long as they have no relation to canon characters and don't impose on canon castmates. Silent protagonists are allowed.
☆ We accept up to two separate versions of each character. This can be one canon and one AU version or two AU versions, but they must be notably different from one another. Canon AUs, such as a Kingdoms Hearts version of a Final Fantasy character, count as separate characters rather than doubles. If you're intending to app a double, please check in with the existing player first and make sure they don't mind.
★ There are no rules on canon length or obscurity, but characters from canons with no consistent plot (such as Spongebob) can't be apped.
☆ You may app from non-localized canons, but you must be able to provide the mods with a source in English that summarizes or otherwise provides information on your canon. The mods need to be able to check your app vs canon somehow. If we can't be sure, we'll ask you to either app AU or, in the case of partially-localized works, stick to a canon point that's been localized to.
★ You may app an MMO protagonist provided you are willing to allow NPC players not to recognise them. For example, if you want to app your Warrior of Light from Final Fantasy XIV you may, but NPCs might remember the WoL as the standard trailer protagonist. This is in order to be fair to NPC players who don't know the details of your character, and to make room for multiple such OCs in the game. If you want to avoid this problem, you can app your OC without including their role as protagonist (as a background npc or random adventurer).
☆ You can app a character who is not human! They'll remain in their usual form, unless they are incapable of using the train/Chain. Characters who are too big to fit in a human-sized room will be sized down, for example. However, you may assume your bedroom and your Chain are customized to account for a character who'd otherwise fit (such as a tiny version for a fairy, or accessibility functions for blind characters). If your character is an animal who cannot carry or use a phone at all, you'll have to humanize them (but you can go with a humanoid form that resembles the original if you want), but if they can use the Chain, even if only by cartoon physics, they can come in as is. If you need help with your specific character, feel free to ask the mods in advance of apping or within your app!
★ Characters who are dead, injured, or terminally ill are welcome. Dead characters will be revived, and all injuries are healed. Whether or not scars remain is up to player choice. Characters with a terminal condition can choose to have it cured on entry, or may purchase items with sparks to treat it as they normally would.
☆ Characters with a split personality or possession can keep it on entry. We don't require them to be apped as separate characters. However, if you want them separated, you may app just one or the other. Just note this in your app!

To apply, please fill out the form in an email to the mods at auroraexpressmods [at] gmail with the subject Application - First/Second - Character Name. Apps sent with the wrong subject line might get missed or delayed, so please be consistent. The mods will send responses out with placements on the 15th. If your app requires revisions, we may contact you earlier in order to give you time to revise before placements, but apps submitted close to the deadline may have to wait a few more days to be placed.
If you'd like to reapp a dropped character, please just shoot us an email letting us know and we'll place you asap regardless of app rounds! You don't have to include your old app, but you should let us know any changes you are making (as in switching which loss your character has). If you want to change which team your character was on, the team you're switching to may be asked for approval by the mod team. If you're apping a different AU of the same character, you must app them normally during the app round.
